Clarence Alvin Meyers, son of Ernest and Jankan (Loof) Meyers, was born at Mountain Lake, MN on March 4, 1914. He received his education at District 47 country school through the 8th grade. Clarence was baptized at the Christian Reformed Church near Mt. Lake. He was united in marriage to Thelma Giese on October 5, 1940 at the Christian Reformed Church parsonage. Following their marriage, the couple lived and farmed near Milnor, ND until 1947, when they moved to a farm in Odin Township, Watonwan County, MN. They lived and farmed there until 1986 when they retired and moved into Mt. Lake. Clarence worked as groundkeeper for the rest area on Hwy 60 East of St. James for a couple of years and hauled lumber for Klassen Lumber Co. of Mt. Lake. Clarence enjoyed his family and doing woodworking. Clarence was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mt. Lake. Clarence is survived by two sons, Rodney (Judy) Meyers, of Carlos, MN and Carl (Judy) Meyers, of Eagle Lake, MN; two daughters, Avis ( Dennis) Oeltjenbruns, of Bloomington, MN and Sharon (Dennis) Nordby, of New Ulm, MN; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Ethel Meyers, of Dakota, Illinois and three brothers: Roy Meyers, of Fountain, CO, Lester Meyers, of Billings, MT and Irvin (Maybin) Meyers, of Lakefield, MN; sister-in-law Darlene Meyers, of Mt. Lake, MN and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Thelma, parents, granddaughter, Melissa Kay Nordby, two brothers: Louie Meyers and Don Meyers and an infant sister, Gladys Meyers. Clarence attained the age of 96 years 11 months 6 days.
