Clarence Ewert was born August 14, 1920, in Mountain Lake, MN the son of Abram and Helen (Voth) Ewert. He attended Mountain Lake High School and was the last surviving member of the 1939 State Basketball Championship team. Clarence was married to Ina Wiken for over 25 years. He farmed for many years then worked for the National Farmers Organization as an Ag Salesman. Clarence moved to Tyler, TX where he lived for 30 years before returning to Mountain Lake in 2007. He was a member of the NFO for several years and enjoyed all sports, farming, and visiting with family and many friends and acquaintances. Clarence Ewert passed away Monday, September 12, 2011, at Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake at the age of 91 years, 29 days. He is survived by daughters- Diane Henriksen of Lakeville, and Patricia (Merlin) Bottin of Monument, CO; son James Ewert of Phoenix, AZ; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother Elvin Ewert of Forest Lake; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son David; and brother Wilbur.
