The Private Funeral Services will be held at a later date with interment at Delft Cemetery in Delft, MN. The public is welcome to come to the Visitation which will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2012 from 4-7 PM at the Sturm Funeral Home in Mountain Lake. Clarence was born to David and Agatha (Krahn) Baerg on June 24, 1924 at the family farm in rural Bingham Lake (Carson Township). He was baptized at the age of 18 by Reverend I.J. Dick at the First Mennonite Church of Mountain Lake. On March 10, 1949 he married Elizabeth "Betty" Heinrichs. Together they farmed north of Bingham Lake (Delton Township) and raised their three children. Clarence and Betty moved to Delft in 1975. He worked at the Roller Shield Manufacturing company in Jeffers and then at Ballzers Manufacturing in Mountain Lake for many years. Clarence also opened his own repair shop in Delft and collected scrap iron. He had a gift of building things with steel and welding. He helped his children when ever they needed help, even if it was in Canada and taught his grandchildren valuable skills. Clarence is survived by son Larry (Evelyn) of Morse, Saskatchewan, Canada; daughter Linda (Gordon) Goertzen of Windom, MN; daughter-in-law Darlene Baerg of Bingham Lake, MN; five grandchildren: Brian (Jodi), Lyndon (Anita), Tammy, Andrew, and Lacey (Danny); six great-grandchildren: Jordan, Simon, Dylan, Kayla, Hayden, and William. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Betty on April 18, 1986; son, Allen on December 24, 2007; parents; and brother Edward. The family would like to thank Good Samaritan of Mountain Lake for all the great care and love they provided Clarence for the last six years.
