Clara Clausina (Evers) Wall was born on May 7, 1917 in Selma Township, Cottonwood County near Comfrey, MN. Her parents, who came from Ostfriesland, Germany, were Harm and Anna (Coners) Evers. She was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Comfrey. She received her education at Comfrey Public School. Clara first worked as a housekeeper for Doc Gibbons in Comfrey, and following that she became a switchboard operator in Comfrey. On April 10, 1947, Clara married Arnold Wall at Salem Lutheran Church. They farmed the Ed Wing farm north of Comfrey for six years, and in 1953 they purchased their farm in rural Mountain Lake. Clara loved music, sewing, gardening, cooking and quilting. She served as organist at Salem and Stately Churches for many, many years. She was also involved as a parent and leader for nearly 20 years with the Selma Builders 4-H Club. They retired from farming in 1976. Together they enjoyed many fishing trips, and loved spending time with their grandchildren. On April 16, 2006, her husband of 59 years passed away, and Clara continued living on the farm pursuing her love of sewing and quilting! She made over 600 caps for cancer patients and numerous church quilts. Visitors were always treated to tea and home baked goodies. Clara resided at the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake for the last three months, eventually undergoing two hip surgeries in Rochester. She passed away on May 17th at the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake. Clara is survived by her four children, Robert (Marci) Wall of Eagle River, AK, Ronald (Nina) Wall of Dassel, MN, LaDonna Olson of North Branch, MN and Carol (Jerry) Booth of Ramsey, MN; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, John Evers (Alice) of Sleepy Eye, MN; sister-in-law, Evelyn Evers of Comfrey; brother-in-law, Harold (Emma) Wall of Balaton, MN; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son-in-law, Ronald Olson; grandson, Jonathan Olson; brothers, Henry, Ralph, Harm, Bert and Bert in infancy; sisters, Anna Valentine, Lula Holland, Alice Menken; Helen Evers and Lula in infancy; and nephew, Little Harold Evers.
