Charlotte Sternberg

Charlotte Betty Elaine Sternberg, age 96, of Saint James, died on July 1, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society in Saint James.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 11:00 am, at Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in South Branch. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Charlotte was born to Ernest and Ellen (Nelson) Olson. She attended Country School District 58 through eighth grade and graduated from Saint James High School in 1946. She was baptized, confirmed and later married in East Sveadahl to Raymond Sternberg on September 1, 1950.

Charlotte worked as a bookkeeper at the LaSalle Creamery and Locker Plant. She and Raymond lived on a farm in South Branch and had four children. Raymond died on December 31, 1970. Charlotte moved to Saint James in 1971. She worked at Traub's Jewelry for 17 years and later worked at Early Child Care and Prairie View. She volunteered at the nursing home for many years. She enjoyed reading, coffee with friends and especially babysitting her grandchildren. She traveled in the United States with the Bloomquist relation.

Charlotte is survived by her children, Valerie Hanna of Eden Prairie, Minnesota and Jeff (Doris) Sternberg of Lakeville, Minnesota; grandchildren, Stephanie (Ethan), Naomi (David), Billy, Tim (Paige), Brian, Katelyn (Eric), and Connor; and great grandchildren, Addison, Brynn, Cora, Raelen, Sierra, Jayson and Troy.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents, Ernest and Ellen Olson; children, Kurtis and Randy (Gayle); son-in-law, Tom Hanna; and sisters, Mildred (Lloyd) Howe and Harriet (Donald) Steege.
