Charles Palmquist, age 59, of St. James, died on March 13, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Funeral services will be 10:30am, Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Augustana Lutheran Church in St. James with Rev. Kathleen Ulland-Klinkner officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. James. Visitation will be 4pm to 8pm on Friday, March 16, 2012, at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James and will continue one hour before the service at the church. Charles William Palmquist was born in St. James on August 3, 1952 the son of Sven Edna (Baker) Palmquist. Chuck grew up in St. James where he attended school. Chuck served 21 years in the National Guard and worked at Tony Downs. He was united in marriage to Judy Hoffrogge on October 23, 1976. He enjoyed spending time with family, loved playing with his grandchildren. He like watching dirt track racing, MN Twins, grilling out, and traveling to California to visit family. He loved rummage sales and scrapping. He is survived by his wife; Judy of St. James, children; Chastity Vazquez of St. James, Chad Palmquist of St. James, Lisa Zaldivar of Los Angels, sisters; Brenda (Dean) Martinez of St. James, Nancy (Marv) Palmquist of Laverne, Peggy Guillen of St. James, 3 brothers; Randy Palmquist of Lewisville, Karl Palmquist of Ormsby, Earl (Becky) Palmquist of St. James, 4 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, sisters-in-law; Jeanette (Dennis) Knuz of Madelia, Jill (Ted ) DeLaCruz of Madelia, Janet Tierney of Madelia, Josephine (Kevin) Lindquist of Winona, Jolene Blekstad of Madelia, brothers-in-law; Joe Hoffrogge of Madelia, Jeff Hoffrogge of Waseca, special friends; Sheryl Wendt of St. James Old Grandma of St. James.
