Charles Hudson, age 74, of St. James, died on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James. Charles Eugene Hudson was born in Grogan, MN, on May 17, 1937, to parents Severt Emma (Firchau) Hudson. Chuck grew up in the Grogan and St. James area where he attended school. He joined the Air Force where he served 4 years. In 1959, he married Norma Stark. The couple made their home in the St. James area. He worked at Tony Downs, Murphy Freight of St. James and New Ulm, and various other trucking companies. Charles served on the Sheriff's reserve, served as State President of the Eagle's 2000-2001, past Commander of the American Legion, and Veterans Honor Guard for many years. Chuck married Virginia (Zarn) Miller on July 25, 1987. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, doing word search, crossword puzzles and loved to watch old western movies. He is preceded in death by his father, sister Janice and an infant sister. Chuck is survived by his wife Virginia Hudson of St. James, children Jodi Warling of North Mankato, Todd Hudson of St. James, Trent (Melissa) Hudson of LeSueur, step-children Leon (Karen) Miller of St. Peter, Leland Miller of St. James, Ronda Miller of Minnetonka, mother Emma Hudson of St. James, brothers Donald (Diane) Hudson of St. James, Glen (Suzette) Hudson of Woodville, WI, sister Donna Watson of Eight Mile, AL, 16 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Gladys Macmaster of St. James, brothers-in-law Eugene (Carol) Zarn of St. James, Willy (Pat) Zarn of Jefferson City, MO, and numerous nieces and nephews.
