Charles 'Chuck' Howard

Charles Chuck Howard, was born on December 29, 1930 to Charles Sr. and Beulah (Daley) Howard in Lake Mills, Iowa. Chuck graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1949. He went to Augsburg College for 2 years, and then enlisted in the Air Force for 2 years. After serving in the Air Force he returned to Augsburg College where he received his degree in education. Chuck taught and coached in Ashby, Underwood and Fergus Falls. He was also the Assistant School Principal and Athletic Director in Fergus Falls. Chuck was avid sports fan, enjoying all athletic events. He married Agnes Twedt in North Dakota, this marriage was blessed with 3 children. Agnes died in 1995. On December 26, 1997 Chuck was united in marriage to Kathy Lunz. Chuck enjoyed any kind of sports, whether he watched or participated. He also had a love for his cabin in Henning where he and Kathy spent many summers. Chuck and Kathy spent many winters in Arizona. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion, J.W. Roth Post #294, in Lake Crystal. Chuck enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with family. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Kathy; daughter, Julie Howard of Golden Colorado; son, Nick (Jamie) Howard of Plainfield, IL; grandchildren, Alexa, Nate, Russell, Lucia; step-children, Karen (John) Vanderhoof of Kasota and Jay (Tana) Lunz of Madelia; step-grandchildren, Ben, Nicole, Jana, Jasmine, Corey, Cade; 5 great-grandsons; sisters, Anita (Arold) Marohn of Elk River, Jean Childs of Lake Crystal, Carol (Roger) Jones of Lake Crystal and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents; first wife, Agnes; infant son, Jon; brother-in-law, Stan Childs and sister-in-law Isabelle Johnson.
