Charles Eckstein

Charles A. Eckstein, 67 ,of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Sleepy Eye Medical Center. Charles Arthur Eckstein was born on November 17, 1940 the son of Albert Evelyn (Zuhlsdorf) Eckstein. He grew up and attended school in Sleepy Eye. Charles married Carol Cordes on February 18, 1960 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple made their home in Sleepy Eye where Charles worked at Del Monte for many years. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going out to eat, playing cards, watching football and especially spending time with his sons and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Carol Cordes Eckstein of Sleepy Eye, sons, Brad (Linda) Eckstein of Sleepy Eye, Mark (Jean) Eckstein of New Ulm, Scott (Carmen) Eckstein of Morgan and David Eckstein of Morgan, grandchildren, Brad Eckstein, Jr., Bobby Jo Eckstein, Joshua Eckstein and Nathan Eckstein, brother-in-law, Vern Schumacher of Sleepy Eye and sister-in-law, Connie (Bill) Smith of New Ulm. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Judy Schumacher, father mother-in-law Louis Ann Cordes, sister brother-in-law, Daniel (Cynthia) Mackleburg.
