Charles 'Chuck' Nelson

Charles 'Chuck' James Nelson was born August 7, 1940 in Kinbrae, MN to Ed and Lena (Schumm) Nelson. He was united in marriage to Judy Schmitz on August 22, 1964 in Brewster, MN. The couple moved to Madelia in 1967. Chuck worked for CHS in Mankato for over 30 years before his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Madelia and enjoyed grilling, baking, cooking, woodworking, and cutting firewood. Chuck especially enjoyed lutefisk suppers held around the area and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by wife Judy of Madelia; children- Drew and wife Caryn Nelson of Madelia and their children Caitlyn, Hailey and Colton, and Jill and husband Troy Madetzke of Blue Earth and their children Grant, Lauren and Ryan; brother Mervin (Mary) Nelson of Fulda; and sister Bonnie Nimmerfroh of Estherville, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Sharlene and her husband Henry Meinders; and brother-in-law Ken Nimmerfroh.
