Catherine Elkins

Catherine Elkins age 74 of Madelia died on Saturday July 20, 2013 at the Madelia Community Hospital. Visitation will be from 4 PM to 7 PM, Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Sturm Funeral Home, Pilgrim Chapel in Madelia and will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial service will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday July 24, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Madelia. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Madelia. Catherine Jean Elkins, the daughter of Lawrence and Lillian (Caswell) Pauley was born on August 31, 1938 in Madelia, MN. Catherine attended grade school at Mater Dolorosa (St. Mary's Catholic School). She graduated in 1956 from Madelia High School. She was united in marriage to Ronald Elkins in 1956 in Madelia. Catherine worked as a secretary at Citizens Bank and then at Williams Agency. She enjoyed camping, spending winters in Texas, early morning walks, playing dominos with her grandchildren, playing BINGO, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and she loved to eat sweets. She is survived by her husband, Ronald of Madelia; children, Cynthia Breitbarth of Madelia, Douglas (Sandy) Elkins of N. Mankato, Rick (Lisa) Elkins of Madelia and Joanne (Paul) Evjen of Madelia; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Judy (Bill) Rasmussen of Madelia and Barbara Pauley of Mankato and many nieces and nephews.
