Carroll Samuel Trebesch was born on January 14, 1935, in Willmar, Minnesota to Ella Wigton and was lovingly raised by his parents, Samuel and Rose (Fiemeyer) Trebesch, in rural Sleepy Eye alongside his brother Arvid. Carroll attended St. John’s Lutheran Parochial School and started working as a young man with his dad on the family farm south of town. In 1958, he was drafted into the United States Army and served his country stateside and in Germany. Upon his honorable discharge, Carroll returned to Sleepy Eye to farm and raise his family. Carroll retired from farming in 1980 and began a 26-year truck driving career with Star Bulk Trucking in New Ulm and later Halter Trucking in Springfield.

Carroll enjoyed car rides, birdwatching, listening to Polka music, riding his bicycle, and fishing. He loved a good cheeseburger and pancakes covered with extra maple syrup! A selfless, patient, and kind-hearted man, Carroll loved helping his family, friends, and neighbors with anything and everything. He enjoyed the simple things in life. Most of all, Carroll was a devoted and proud father who cherished time he spent with his family.

Carroll is survived by his children, Carolyn (Ted Anderson), Cindy (Chris Schmitz), Crystal Braun, and Harold (Darcie Trebesch); grandchildren, Jon, Theodore, Jake, Mackenzie (Cole), Kaila, Kennedy, Kaden, Christian; bonus daughter, Carissa Hansen (Jason) and her children, Derek and Neveah; great-granddaughter, Aspen; special friend and mother of his children, Brenda Schultz; brother, Leo Lindig (Barb); and other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Sam and Rose Trebesch; birth mother, Ella Wigton; brothers, Arvid Trebesch and Donald Lindig; and sister, Jean Swenson.
