Caroline F. Welsch, age 99, of Springfield, MN, died on June 29, 2026, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye, MN.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 6th, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at on Monday at 11:00 AM at St. Raphael's Catholic Church. Interment will be at the St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery in Springfield.

Caroline Frances (Ebnet) Welsch passed peacefully after living 99 years of devotion and quiet strength for her family.

Born on a farm near Rowena, March 25, 1927, was baptized and married at St Ann's Catholic Church in Wabasso, MN. Caroline married Frederick J Welsch April 24, 1946, to this union two children were born. A Son Fred and daughter Carol Jean. While raising their children, she worked as a waitress in Springfield for over 20 years as well as cleaning businesses yet still finding time for gardening and canning...pickles, lots of pickles!

Caroline was a hard worker who helped both of their parents as they aged with everyday kindness along with being a long-time member of St Boniface Society, Legion Auxiliary and Divine Providence Auxiliary.

Summer vacations were memorable for the family as they visited families or the Black Hills, SD. Springfield was the family home from 1946-2011 when Caroline up and moved to Lake Villa Maria in Sleepy Eye and later to the Divine Providence Community Home where she passed in her sleep Monday June 29, 2026.

She is survived by her son Fred (Paula Kasa) Welsch of Rapid City, SD and daughter Carol Jean (Raymond) Mezera of Belle Plaine, MN; sister-in-law - Madonna Ebnet of Sleepy Eye, MN as well as many nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Caroline. Her husband Fred Sr passed March 25, 2006. Her parents, all nine brothers and sisters preceded her death.
