Caroline Bloomquist

Caroline Rose Bloomquist, 101, of Madelia, died on September 17, 2026, at Living Meadows at Luther in Madelia.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Riverside Cemetery in Madelia. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Madelia. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Caroline was born on November 14, 1924, to Harvey and Rose (Alleman) Bachmann in Madelia, Minnesota. She attended school in Madelia. She married Earl Raymond and together they had four children. Earl died in 1951. In 1957, she married Vernon Bloomquist.

In her early years, Caroline worked for Seibert's Grocery in Madelia. She and her family moved to LaSalle, where she worked for LaSalle Meats until she was in her 90s. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, crafting, shopping, thrifting, and fishing and camping in her younger years. Caroline was known as the puzzle lady while she lived at Living Meadows in Madelia.

Caroline is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Gary) Parrish and Joanne (James) Hansen; grandchildren, Kim Adelman, Becky (Steven) Cornett, Douglas (Lidia) Bjorkquist, Tammy (Pete) Strand, Wesley Freeman, Jada Raymond, and Danette Raymond; step-grandchildren, Gregory (Andie) Hansen, Leah (Jason) Kratzwald, and Jon Hansen; great grandchildren, Jordan (Chris), Scott (Brooke), Douglas, Darrick, Davin, Hannah (Ian), Hunter, Abby, Mikel, Dustin, Taylor, and Darcy; step-great grandchildren, Atreyu, Emrys, Indy, Andrew, Annabelle, and Brett; and great great grandchildren, Henry, Charlie, Brooks, Bennett, and Lexis.

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Earl Raymond and Vernon Bloomquist; son, Winston (Shari); infant son, Richard; brothers, Raymond (Kay) Bachmann and Willard (Donna) Bachmann; and sister, Marlene Bachmann.
