Carole Krueger

Carole Joyce Krueger, age 86, of Saint James, died on September 7, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Society in Saint James.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James and will continue on Saturday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Saint James. Carole was born March 1, 1939, to Dale and Fern (Ogden) Kelsey in Madelia. She was raised on a farm by Lewisville. Carole graduated from Madelia High School in 1957. On October 18, 1959, she married LaDon Krueger. Together, they raised two children, Linda and Greg.

Carole worked at Watonwan County ASCS and then for Watonwan County Soil and Water Conservation. She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and volunteered with the St. Paul's Ladies Aid. Additionally, she served as a 4-H leader and was a member of the Red Hat Society. In her spare time, she enjoyed participating in card club, golfing, gardening, antiquing, making Special-K bars, which her family truly enjoyed, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, siblings, and friends. Her sense of humor will be deeply missed.

Carole is survived by her children, Linda (David) Lenz of Saint James and Greg Krueger of Saint James; grandchildren, Amber (Tina) of Mountain Lake, Colter (Megan) of Odin, and Briar of Duluth; great grandchildren, Payton, Madison, Aaleah, and Grayson; brothers, Ron (Jeanne) Kelsey, and Mickey (Karen) Kelsey; sisters, Maxine (Paul) Sanders, Charlotte Knaak, Marjorie Nelson, and Lari (Gary) Forsythe; and sister-in-law, Judy Kelsey.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don in 2024; sisters, Jean Kelsey and Mardele (Harry) Gerdes; and brother, Dale Kelsey.
