Carol Ann Thompson age 59, of Grogan, Minnesota died peacefully Monday, April 5, 2010 at her home after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Carol was born on November 19, 1950 to John D. Rosella (Willems) Quiring in St. James, Minnesota. She graduated from St. James High School and married Dennis Arthur Thompson on June 15, 1968 in St. Charles, Minnesota. They made their home in Grogan, Minnesota. Carol worked as a bookkeeper for Myron Hoffman Violet Niemeier before becoming Business Manager for the St. James, Madelia and Butterfield School Districts. She worked for the St. James School District for over 25 years. Carol was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church and served as bookkeeper, member of the choir and handbells. She was a member of the St. James Ladies Auxillary. Carol loved spending time with her family, especially the holidays, when she had a surprise for everybody. She was a master quilter and enjoyed cooking baking. She will be greatly missed by her husband Dennis, daughters Kimberly (Donevan) Saxon of St. James, Jennifer (Jeff) Groebner of Eagan, grandsons Ben Brackelsberg Jacob Salo, step grandchildren, Cheryl Brackelsberg, Josh Jacob Groebner, mother Rosie Quiring of St. James, Sisters Dorothy (Richard) Burns of Long Island, NY, Betty (Douglas) Roiger of New Ulm, mother father-in-law Art Helen Thompson of Grogan, sister-in-laws, LuAnn (Mike) Lawrence of Madelia, Kathy (Blair) Haler of St. James, Jodi (Jerry) Mundt of Madison Lake, pets Rudy Toby, many nieces nephews-in-laws and several special friends. She was proceded in death by her father.
