Carol Johnson

Memorials preferred to the family (to be divided among Carol's favorite organizations). Carol Johnson, of St. James, passed away peacefully on April 14th, at the age of 85, with family by her side. Carol Nadine Utoft was born October 10th, 1931, in McIntosh, SD. Carol attended South Dakota State University, where she studied education and met Bob Johnson. Carol and Bob were married on August 15th, 1952, in McIntosh, SD. After Bob's service in the Army they lived in Gregory, SD, where Carol greatly enjoyed teaching at the public school. They also lived in Lake Benton, MN and Rapid City, SD before moving to St. James in 1969. Carol cherished spending time with family and friends. She loved to play bridge and dance, and looked forward to going to the lake each summer with her family. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Carol is survived by her husband Bob Johnson of St. James; sons Greg Johnson of Minneapolis, and Brian (Kari) Johnson of Plymouth; grandsons Nathan Johnson and Evan Johnson (fianc Elizabeth Williams); and many relatives and good friends who meant so much to her. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Henry (Hank) and Ella Utoft, sister Joyce Sattler, and brother Don Utoft. Visitation 1 9:30 am - 10:30 am Thursday, April 20, 2017 St. Paul's Ev.
