Carmen Marie Schumacher

Carmen M. Schumacher, age 56 of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, died on May 28, 2025, at her home. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye Chapel. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. Carmen Marie Schumacher, the daughter of Vernon and Judy (Eckstein) Schumacher, was born on August 28, 1968, in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. Carmen grew up in Sleepy Eye with her four sisters and graduated from Sleepy Eye Public School. She worked at Norwood (Bic) for over 20 years, followed by working at Wal-Mart for over five years, which was a job she loved.

Carmen was the mom of two sons, Dylan and Kyle. She loved her boys beyond measure and was always there supporting them in their activities. She enjoyed cooking and liked spending time outdoors, especially going for walks with her dog. Always one to work hard and stay busy, Carmen enjoyed planting flowers, doing yard work, and working on home improvement projects. She loved watching movies, leading a simple life, baking, and singing while she cleaned.

Carmen is survived by her sons, Dylan Wersal (fiancée Holly) and Kyle Wersal (significant other Tori); sisters, Pam Schumacher (Bret), Lorie Schumacher, and Amy (Jim) Barnes; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Judy Schumacher; sister, Vicky Schumacher; and dog, Olie.
