Carl G. Oeltjenbruns was born on August 15, 1925 on the family farm in Cottonwood County, the son of John F. and Hanna (Mohlenbrock) Oeltjenbruns. He attended country school District #81. In 1955 Carl was drafted into the U.S. Army and served until 1957. On November 3, 1959 he was united in marriage to Margola Ganger at Faith Lutheran Church in Comfrey. They made their home on a farm near Comfrey and moved to Springfield in 1998 as a result of the Comfrey tornado. Carl was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Comfrey and a current member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield. Carl was called home on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at St. John Lutheran Home at the age of 84 years. He is survived by his children - Kevin (Betty) Oeltjenbruns of Comfrey, MN, Dean Oeltjenbruns of Gary, SD, Tammy (Jim) Heintz of Faribault, MN, and Kelly (Dan) Pauling of Hanska, MN; 8 grandchildren - Steph Oeltjenbruns, Cody Oeltjenbruns, Matthew Oeltjenbruns, Maci Pauling, Andrew Oeltjenbruns, Mara Pauling, Tyler Heintz, and Nickolas Heintz; a sister - Martha Oeltjenbruns of Mt. Lake; and brothers - Albert Oeltjenbruns of Bingham Lake and John (Evelyn) Oeltjenbruns of Mt. Lake. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife - Margola in June of 2009; sister-in-law - Marie Oeltjenbruns; and a brother-in-law - Clarence (Esther) Ganger.
