Carl James Coners was the New Years Baby of Springfield, MN, being born on January 1, 1961 to Claus Jr. and Janet (Lyons) Coners. He was a 1980 graduate of the Comfrey High School in Comfrey, MN. Carl was baptized in the Lutheran Faith, and later he confirmed that Faith at Salem Lutheran Church in Comfrey. On July 12, 2008, Carl was united in marriage to Pam (Peters) Dick at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake, MN. Carl worked various jobs in manufacturing and construction before RSD disabled him. Currently he was working for the Mankato Free Press delivering newspapers, and oversaw the burn site in Mountain Lake. He was a member of the National Guard Unit in St. James, MN, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and attending sporting events. Carl became ill and was hospitalized at Sanford Health Center Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD on the 25th of January 2009. On the 29th he was diagnosed with lung cancer and died peacefully on February 5, 2009 with his family at his side. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; and a brother, Douglas Coners. Carl is survived by his wife, Pam Coners of Mountain Lake; a son, Josh Coners of Brooklyn Park, MN; two brothers, Norman L. Dick of Madelia, MN, and Chuck Coners and his wife Brenda of Mountain Lake; three sisters, Sharon Spaulding and Felix Garcia of Windom, MN, DeDe Wegner and her husband Gene of St. James, MN, and Amy Coners and Brad Neilson of Madelia; his mother and father-in-law, Dennis and Arbie Peters of Mountain Lake; 18 nieces and nephews; five great nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.
