Bryce Harris

Bryce Oakley Harris was born March 25, 1924 in Jamestown, ND and was the youngest son of Ernest and Pearl (Posey) Harris. The family later moved to Brainard, MN, where, after a brief stint in the army, Bryce met Audrey Damm. They were married in January of 1949. They had five daughters and spent the next several years raising the family, living and working at various careers between Minnesota and Washington State. In 2007, Bryce met Gena (Ford) Ireland. They were married on his birthday that very year in Elma, Washington at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Paul Walther. Bryce and Gena lived in McCleary for fourteen months before moving to Fairmont, MN to live with his daughter and son-in-law Vickie and Wayne Nasby. After a year, they bought a home in St. James, MN, where they spent seven happy years together. Bryce, an avid bowler for many years, also enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cribbage, singing, playing the harmonica, yodeling, playing horseshoes and spending time with his large extended family and many friends. Survivors include his wife Gena; three daughters and son-in-laws: Shelley and Bruce Hesse, Vickie and Wayne Nasby and Lori and James Thomson; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Susan and Paul Walther; nine grandchildren; two step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren and over three hundred cousins, nieces and nephews. Bryce was preceded in death by his parents; seven siblings; three wives; and two daughters, Tami Bernitt and Denise Harris.
