Bruce Edgar, 98, of St. James, Minnesota died peacefully on Monday, March 29, 2010 at his home. Celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in St. James. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 for 2 hours prior to the service. Bruce Eldridge Edgar was born on June 2, 1911 to Henry and Grace (Radtke) Edgar in Sanborn, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Church in Sanborn. He graduated from high school in Sanborn in 1929. He started working as assistant manager in the elevator in Sanborn and was promoted to manager in a year. He worked there until 1953. He moved to Hartland and managed the Cargill Elevator until moving to Hector in 1957 and was manager until 1970. He then moved to St. James and managed the Butterfield Elevator for John Adrian for a couple years and then became a commodity broker and worked for Lawrence Strenge in the Stotler Company office in St. James until his retirement in 1990. In April 1934 he married Helen Powers and they had five sons, Terry, Roger, Keith, Bradly and Randall. Helen passed away in August 1969 and he married Marion (Linneman) Baumgardt on December 18, 1971. Marion had three children, Lorrie, Scott and Susan. Survivors include his wife, Marion Edgar; sons, Terry (Natalie) Edgar, Roger (Marcine) Edgar, Keith Edgar, Bradly (Cheri) Edgar and Randy Edgar; step-children, Lorrie Odegard, Scott Baumgardt and Susan Warnemunde; 10 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 9 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Art (Dee) Peters; and many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Helen; brother, Clair; sisters, Ellen (Ted) Halverson, Beatrice (Robb) Kremer and Mary and Ruth (Willard) Busse; and grandson, Derek Edgar.
