Brian Peterson

Brian Peterson age 54, of Kilkenny, MN died on December 22, 2020, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, West Bank in Minneapolis, MN. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey, MN. Due to COVID-19, visitation will be a "walk through" visitation to avoid congregating or gathering inside the building. All who attend are required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing guidelines. Interment will be at the Springfield City Cemetery at a later date. Brian was born and raised in Comfrey by Carol and LeRoy Peterson. He and his sister Jayna stayed active while growing up on the family's cattle and pig farm. Brian developed a love of animals at a very young age and was actively involved in 4H activities. After graduating high school, he attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a degree in applied science. Brian worked one night in a factory and said he left in the morning and never went back. His next career path was learning the art of horse shoeing and the rest is history. Brian has a hobby farm in Kilkenny. He started Brian Peterson Farrier Service and had been actively shoeing horses until he passed away. He had been in the horse industry for 32 years and had a loyal following of customers. Brian was an amazing father to Jake and Katie. He loved life and his work with the horses and all the comradery embracing the equine world. He spent the last several years with the love of his life Julie traveling, horseback riding, and living life to the fullest. Brian is survived by his children, Jake (Sarah), Katie (Austin), father LeRoy (Marty), sister, Jayna (Richard), nieces and nephews and his beloved partner, Julie. He is preceded in death by his mother, Carol and grandparents. Brian was very witty and made the world a warmer place with his big smile and adoring brown eyes. His laughter lives on in his son Jake. Ride on cowboy. We have no doubt the heavenly doors opened up for you and your mom greeted you at the door. We love you so much and miss you terribly.
