Bonnie Henkel

August 7, 1936 — May 17, 2015

Bonnie Lou ( Bittner, Stoutland) Henkel was born at home in Waterbury Township, Wanda, MN on August 7, 1936 to Agatha ( Dallmann) and Gordon Bittner. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended Wanda School through the 8th grade. She graduated from Lamberton High School in 1954. She married Lowell Stoutland and together they had 3 children. She moved back to the farm and worked for the Redwood County District Attorney's office before working for Farmers and Merchants State Bank, from which she retired. Bonnie married Fred Henkel in 1978. They enjoyed 37 years together. Bonnie enjoyed many activities including bowling, bridge, golf, reading, and gardening. Her favorite times were traveling in their RV, winters in Mission, TX, and summers at Lake Scandia where they built their own cabin. She enjoyed her family and friends and the many gatherings that were held. Bonnie is survived by husband Fred; children - Linda (Jim) Cazett, Jeff (Sue) Stoutland, James (Marianne) Stoutland, Pam Steffen, Curt (Colleen) Henkel, Kim (Terry) Quiring, Mary (Terry) Neperman; sisters - Joyce Graff and Joan (Richard) Coyle; sister-in-law Joyce Bittner; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lowell Stoutland; brother Glen Bittner; granddaughter Sarah Quiring; son-in-law Lee Steffen; and brother-in-law Robert Graff.
