Blas (Quas-Quas) Martinez, age 65 of St James MN died on Monday , October 30, 2017 at St Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN Blas Salvador Martinez was born on November 30, 1951 to Jose G Martinez (Margarita) Treviño in Laredo Texas. He was raised by his mother in Nuevo Laredo Tamaulipas. In his teen years he went to live with his father in Chicago, Illinois for a short time. Blas married Maria D Rodriguez on June 01,1981... In 1984 he moved from Laredo, Tx to St James, MN with his wife Maria D. They made St. James their home. Blas enjoyed buying scratch offs tickets, going to the casino with family, collecting aluminum cans, visiting family & friends, cruising in town St James, but the best thing he enjoyed the best was sleeping was his favorite. He got his Nick name as 'Quas-Quas' from his stopson Julio at times he will hide from him and his first words Blas will say we're Quas-Quas. He is survived by his loving wife: Maria D. and his Stepsons: Victor (Nelly) Texas Julio (Amanda) Austin MN step daughter's: Alva, Gloria (St James) Maria (Austin MN) San Juanita (Jesus) Villarreal Martinez ( Justin, Tx). Grandkids some nieces & nephews...his brother Guadalupe Martinez (Laredo) ..sister Irma Villarreal (Heron lake MN) He was preceded in death by his parents, mother & father in -laws, sisters : Maria de la Luz , SanJuana Villarreal.....
