Bev was born February 21, 1935, in Long Beach, California to Armin and Mabel (Berger) Clobes. She was baptized and confirmed at Saint John's Lutheran Church in Fairfax, Minnesota. She graduated from Fairfax High School in 1952 and completed her education at Hamline University in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. On May 24, 1958, Bev married Wayne Bakke at Saint John's Lutheran Church in Fairfax. Together, they raised three children.
Bev worked as a registered nurse until meeting Wayne. After their marriage, she enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother, raising their three children and helping Wayne on the farm. Bev absolutely loved growing up on a farm and living on a farm.
After her children moved from home, Bev went back into nursing. She worked as a home health aide for 9 years and in hospice for an additional 12 years. Bev enjoyed helping others in need. A happy and meaningful time in her life, was when she was able to successfully donate a kidney to her brother, Raymond, which gave him a good, continued quality of life.
Bev was a woman of strong faith and prayer which carried her through good and difficult times. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother that loved and lived for her family. Bev will be greatly missed by all, but she will be waiting in God's eternal home with a hug and a big happy smile!
Bev is survived by her son Dean Bakke of Saint James; daughters, Karen Bakke (Michael Bode) of Bagley, Minnesota and Janet (Michael) Chamberlain of Mankato; sister-in-law, Marilyn Hudson of New Ulm; grandsons, Roman, Alex, and Kaylor; along with several nieces and nephews.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne in 2021; and siblings, Lloyd (Valeria) Clobes, Raymond (Marion) Clobes, Dorothy (Orville) Hauge, and Bernice (Lee) Hinds.
