Beverly Ann (Pierson) Ahern was born November 14, 1930 on the family farm near Lewisville, MN to Nels and Anne (Sanders) Pierson. The family lived on the farm until moving to Butterfield where Beverly graduated from high school. She received her teaching certificate and later her four year teaching degree from Mankato State University. Beverly taught two years in Winnebago before marrying Lawrence Edwin Ahern on June 6, 1953 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Madelia. She taught two years of Spring primary in Butterfield prior to taking the first grade position which she held for 28 years until her retirement in 1990. Beverly and Larry lived in the Butterfield area until 1973 when they moved to an acreage by Lewisville. In 1981 they moved to St. James and upon her retirement in 1990 they moved to Pleasant Lake near Hackensack. In 1998 they moved to Kasson where she lived until April of 2004 when she moved to LeRoy. Beverly enjoyed quilting, Bible study, numerous social activities, card clubs, swim aerobics, and spending time with family and friends. Beverly is survived by - three daughters, Barbara Armbrust of Sauk Rapids, MN, Debra Sehr and husband Steven of Park Rapids, MN, and Jodi Miller and husband David of LeRoy; one son, Craig Ahern and wife Binga of West Fargo, ND; ten grandchildren, Craig, Travis, and Kevin Armbrust, Constance and Charles Sehr, Bryce and Logan Ahern, Daniel, Michael, and Mark Miller; three sisters, Ruby Ekstrom and husband Eldon of Butterfield, Vivian Blomgren and husband Clarence of Mt. Lake, and Eloise Zellmer and husband Leo of Waterville; one brother, Leland Pierson and wife Marilyn of Trimont; three sisters-in-law, Kathleen Pierson of Butterfield, Myrtle Warner and husband Harold of Madelia, and Marion Hanson and husband Curtis of Mankato; one brother-in-law, Albert Ahern of Madelia; and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence; her parents, Nels and Anne Pierson; one brother, Nels Pierson, Jr., and a niece, Johanna Pierson.
