Betty J. Wiese age 88, of rural Mountain Lake died on August 10, 2023, at Good Samaritan Society in St. James, MN

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Sturm Funeral Home, Comfrey Chapel and will continue on Thursday from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at the New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey, MN.

Service will be held at the New Hope Lutheran Church on Thursday at 1:00 pm.

The clergy will be Chaplain Noel Wetter. Interment will be at the Springfield City Cemetery in Springfield, MN.

Betty was born on December 5, 1934 in Springfield, MN, the daughter of Leonard and Vineta (Hoffman) Wiese.  The family moved from a farm near Dotson to a farm near Mountain Lake.  Betty was confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Darfur and graduated from Mountain Lake High School.  After graduation, Betty worked in the Twin Cities and Jackson for a while.  Betty liked flowers, gardening, watching T.V. and had a passion for the MN Twins.

She is survived by a brother - Kenneth (Mary) Wiese of Comfrey, MN, a sister - Rita Sell of Windom, and a sister-in-law - Joyce Wiese of Springfield, MN, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother - Donald Wiese, and a brother-in-law - Orvis Sell.
