Betty Wendt

Betty L. Wendt was born on September 23, 1930, in Randall, MN, the daughter of Michael and Esther (Thompson) Sullivan. She graduated from Little Falls High School and moved to the cities to work at a bank. She married Clarence Wendt on September 23, 1952 in Iroquois, SD. Following their marriage, the couple lived and farmed in Sundown Township. She was an active member at Sundown Lutheran Church and the Springfield American Legion Auxiliary. Betty and Clarence enjoyed wintering in the southeast, especially in New Mexico, and Betty enjoyed making quilts. She continued to travel following Clarence's death in 1989. Betty moved in to Springfield in 2003. Betty died on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 83. She is survived by her daughters - Barb and husband Milton Potter of Bingham Lake, MN and their children Rachel, Jay, and Brett Potter; and Michelle and husband Don Anderson of Springfield, MN and their children Sara (Kevin) Lee, Joe (Jennie) Anderson, and Bob (Emily) Anderson; great grandchildren - Jacob Lee, Blaine and Brady Anderson, and Brooklyn and Cash Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband - Clarence in 1989; a son - Brad in 2009; a brother - Mitchell Sullivan; a sister - Marcella Dobbins; and a special friend - Dick Eisenmenger in 2007.
