Betty Lou Hinrichs

Betty Lou Hinrichs was born on September 16, 1933 in Munich, ND to Victor and Agnes (Wicorek) Bogstie. She attended Munich, ND Public Schools and graduated from there. She married Vernon Hinrichs on July 28, 1950 in Breckenridge, MN. After they married Vernon served in the military for two years. After Vernon was discharged they moved to Sleepy Eye in 1953. Betty worked at the Orchid Inn for ten years from 1955-1965 when she started to work for the State Bank in Sleepy Eye. In 1983, she worked at the Sleepy Eye Clinic and retired in 1991. She also spent many volunteer hours as president of the hospital auxiliary, held all the offices in the American Legion Auxiliary and served in the church ladies at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. In their retirement years Vernon and Betty enjoyed traveling. They spent seven winters in Arizona and several summers in their camper on Green Lake in Minnesota. Betty's grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy. Betty is survived by daughters, Beverly (Donald) Mickelson, Sharon (Paul) Bergling, grandchildren, Jennifer (Brad) Sellner, Heather (Chad) Loeschke, Ryan Mickelson (Kyle Harwood), Eryn (Mick) Brown, Brian (Heidi) Bergling, great grandchildren, Sam and Shawn Sellner, Callie, Kara, Colton and Connor Loeschke, Hana and Wyatt Bergling, sisters-in-law, Mae Hinrichs and Laura Bogstie and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Vernon, brothers and sisters, Irene Klemetsrude, Charlotte Stultz, Merle Bogstie, Orland Bogstie, Frances White-Skorheim, Viola Michels, Peggy Greening, Lila Lebsoch and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bernard (Betty) Hinrichs, Norma (Don) Lyons and Harley Hinrichs.
