Bernice Elvina Zastrow, age 102, of Mountain Lake formerly of Good Thunder, Minnesota, died Friday, December 24, 2021, at Good Samaritan Village, Mountain Lake, Minnesota. Bernice was born July 28, 1919, to Fred and Ida (Johnson) Rosin. She attended Garden City High School. She married Raymond Zastrow March 28, 1945, in Vernon Center. They lived in Good Thunder for over 60 years and raised 5 children. They then moved to Mountain Lake in 2009. She was an excellent seamstress and made many clothes for herself and her children. She had a beautiful garden and canned and froze many vegetables for the family. She loved flowers and arranging them. Her house was always immaculate. She was honest about her opinions and valued truth. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bernice made sure each of her children received a college education and knew about Jesus. Attending church was very important to her. Bernice is survived by her children, Mary Ann Zastrow of Rochester, Karen (Merle) Hinz of Mankato, Lynette (Robert) Ewert of Mountain Lake, Carl (Susan) Zastrow of Auburn Hills, MI, and William (Margaret) Zastrow of Washington, MO; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, brother Andrew Rosin, and half-sister Erna Heitner.
