Bernice Enstad

Bernice Virginia Enstad, the daughter of Jake and Anna (Johnson) Bottem was born June 9, 1916 in Brown County, Minnesota. She was united in marriage to Stuart Enstad on October 14, 1938. Bernice was famously known for her paper thin sugar cookies, Lefse during the holiday season and home made butter mints for weddings and graduations. She expanded her creative talents to needlework and jewelry making. She had a passion for sports, especially for the Minnesota Twins and the Timberwolves. She was always quick with a smile and was loved by many. She moved to Truman Lutheran Home in 2005. She was a member of Augustana Church and the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. Bernice V. Enstad of Truman, formally of St.James died Friday, December 29, 2006 at Immanuel St.Joseph's Hospital in Mankato, Minnesota. Bernice leaves behind her son. Keith and wife Diane (Peterson) of Hutchinson, Mn; Grandsons Kavan and Kory and his special friend, Mellissa Hansen also of Hutchinson; Special Niece Tammy Newman (Bottem) and her husband John of St.James;sister Muriel Druck and husband Bill of Lewisville, Mn; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter Kay Louise, sisters Phyllis Menne and Goldie Lanswerk and her brother Donald Bottem.
