Benjamin Rodriguez

November 30, 2000 — May 4, 2024

"And we know in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." - Romans 8:28

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Benjamin "Gingi" Rodriguez, who was lovingly called to his eternal rest on May 4, 2024, in his hometown of Butterfield, Minnesota, at the age of 23.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at the Butterfield City Cemetery on Friday, May 10th, 2024, at 1:00 pm. The Sturm Funeral Home in St. James is entrusted with the arrangements. Family, friends, and those whose lives Ben touched are invited to leave online condolences and share memories at www.sturmfh.com.

Born to Manuel Rodriguez and Karen Maciel on November 30, 2000, in Mankato, Minnesota, Ben was a beacon of joy and kindness from the very start. He was raised in Butterfield, where he formed lifelong friendships and made unforgettable memories. A proud graduate of Butterfield-Odin Public School in May 2019, Ben's presence was a gift to all who knew him. His love, infectious voice, and laughter will be profoundly missed. Ben's spirit is characterized by his strength, stubbornness, and immense kindness. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome, embracing new friendships with open arms. A faithful protector, Ben was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. His passions included spending quality time with his two beloved dogs, enjoying the company of friends and family, immersing himself in his favorite music, and getting lost in movies. One of Ben's favorite quotes is "Es mejor tener amigos que enemigos".

Ben's life, though far too short, was a testament to this truth. He was filled with love, laughter, and the unwavering strength of family bonds, and he left behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Ben is survived by his loving parents, Karen Maciel and Manuel Rodriguez; his partner, Jennifer Garcia-Rojas; and his siblings, Elizabeth, Mia, and Braulio Rodriguez, along with three nieces and a newly born nephew.

Ben was preceded in death by his grandfather, Enrique Maciel; his uncle, Juan Barron; his cousin, Miguel Sanchez; and his eldest brother, Manuel Rodriguez, Jr.
