Benjamin Joseph Imker was born October 28, 1979, in Springfield, MN, the son of Jay and Linda (Bielen) Imker. Ben graduated from Red Rock Central High School in 1998 where he excelled in sports - baseball, football and wrestling - and the jazz band, playing trombone and tuba. He attended the University if Minnesota for 2 years where he was a member of the Farmhouse Fraternity. Ben then worked as a carpenter for Hagedon Construction and as a plumber for Lamberton Plumbing Heating. He was united in marriage to Kirsten Williams on April 23, 2005. Ben enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with his hands, and was a member of the Lamberton United Methodist Church. Above all, Ben's greatest love was his two children, Mikayla Jo and Halle Rae. Ben Imker died Thursday, December 4, 2008, at the Springfield Medical Center Hospital at the age of 29 years. He is survived by parents- Jay and Linda Imker of Lamberton; daughters- Mikayla Jo and Halle Rae; brother- Kris and wife Megan Imker of Mankato and their son Austin Jay; maternal grandparents- Ray and Marrion Bielen of Springfield; paternal grandparents- Loyd and Marge Imker of Lamberton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his aunt- Joanne Imker.
