Barry Friesen

Barry William Friesen was born in Mt. Lake on March 31, 1945 to parents Benno and Adonna (Moede) Friesen. Barry graduated from St. James High School in 1963. He joined the National Guard and served until 1967. On February 18, 1967 Barry was united in marriage to Doris Karau in St. James. Barry owned and operated the Friesen Body Shop in Mt. Lake since 1976. Barry always had a good joke to share. He loved riding his motorcycle, especially his Goldwing, and going to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Corvette Rally in South Dakota. He also enjoyed snowmobiling. Barry loved to spend time with his family, his children, grandchildren and friends. Barry was preceded in death by his parents Benno and Adonna Friesen and his in-laws Fred and Olidia Karau. He is survived by his wife Doris Friesen of Mt. Lake, children Dawn (Scott) Gray of Eagan, Daron (Rachel) Friesen of Mt. Lake, Benji (Ericka)Friesen of Mankato, grandchildren Nicholas and Samantha Gray, Tyler and Eryn Friesen, Hunter, Savannah, Tucker, Cael and Blaise Friesen, brothers Robert (Sandy) Friesen of St. James, his twin Bruce (Carol) Friesen of St. James and a sister Barb (Bruce) Melzer of New Ulm.
