Barbara Agnes Wolner, "Barb", was born in Minneapolis, MN on January 25th, 1931. After 82 years of living life on earth, while surrounded by the love of her family, she peacefully entered heaven's gate on April 19th, 2013. Barb was born in Minneapolis on January 25th, 1931 and graduated from Minneapolis South High School. After high school she went on to attend classes at the Minneapolis Art Institute where she had dreams of becoming a fashion designer in Paris, until she met the love of her life. Barb was married to Walter Harlan Wolner, "Bob", on August 26th 1950. The dreams of being a designer transformed to the dreams of being a Mother and Wife. Barb experienced 63 years of being cherished by Bob, her loving husband. Barb and Bob devoted their lives to each other and their children in the cities of Austin, St. James, and Hutchinson, MN. After returning to St. James, they enjoyed part of their retirement years in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico and developed an extensive community of friends. "A human life is a story told by God" -- Hans Christian Andersen. While Barb's life is best told by God, she knew God's story by heart and lived it. She was a devoted Christian who gave her life to God, her husband, and her family. Barb spent her free time journaling her life…many memories were preserved to pass on to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barb was an excellent record keeper, revealed through her journals, dated events and volumes of scrapbooks. She was an avid reader and indexed the books she read from 1975 to the present. Additionally, Barb enjoyed playing cards, golfing, visiting and writing to friends and family, keeping them close and gracing them with a peaceful existence, and the "Hackett" sense of humor while mentoring us with high integrity, compassion and love. Mere words cannot be summed up to exemplify our Barb and her life. She was greatly cherished and will be missed by all who knew her. Barb is survived by her husband "Bob", daughters, Dawn (and Loren) Matejka, Lauree (and Kevin) Kuehl, and son Steve (and Chris) Wolner, 22 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, brother Charlie (and Sharon) Hackett, and brother-in-laws Mel Anderson, and Bill (and Ginger) Wolner. Barb was preceded in death by her parents John and Ellen (Widergren) Hackett, brothers John and James Hackett, sister Jean Anderson and many other beloved family and friends. The family wishes to thank everyone involved in Barb's care with greatest of gratitude, God's Love has touched us through you.
