Barbara Savage

Barbara Jean (Schneider) Savage was born on January 23, 1931, to Alfred and Florence (Voss) Schneider in Springfield, MN. Barb attended and graduated from Springfield Public Schools. On August 17, 1949, Barb was united in marriage to Bernard Savage in Green Isle, MN. They raised their family, son Gary and daughters Colleen and Shannon, in Minneapolis, MN and Great Falls, MT. After retiring in 1986, the couple returned to Minnesota, but also enjoyed having a rental home in Texas and owning a home in Florida and North Carolina. Barb enjoyed spending time with family, vacationing with her family, shopping, and watching the birds and squirrels. She also loved making people feel welcome by offering food no matter where or what we were doing, sweets being her favorite. Barb Jean Savage died on Thursday, April 18, at her home, surrounded by her family at the age of 88. She will be remembered in the hearts of her husband Bernard Gordy Savage; son Gary (Pam) Savage; daughters – Colleen Savage and Shannon (Paul) Quistorff; six granddaughters – Jana Reger, Jennifer Daly, Renee Aguilar, Tara Olson, Alissa Gordon, and Breanna Quistorff; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great granddaughters; brother Don (Donna) Schneider; and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Barb was greeted in heaven by her parents Alfred and Florence Schneider and sister Lois Aliperto. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, which was a favorite organization because of a granddaughter affected by the disease.
