Barbara Kunz

Barbara Lea Kunz was born to Maynard and Donna (Harris) Firchau on May 21, 1945 in Madelia. She attended and graduated from Madelia High School. On February 1, 1964, Barb was united in marriage to Bernard Kunz in Madelia. The couple was blessed with three children - Tammy, Amy and BJ. Barb was a night cook at The Triangle and also worked in Madelia and LaSalle at the LaSalle Grain Elevator. She enjoyed reading, embroidery and time spent with her grandchildren. Barb was a member of the Police Reserves. Barbara died Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, MN at the age of 67. She is survived by her husband Bernard Kunz of Madelia; children - Tammy (Rick) Jaeger of Faribault, Amy (Ralph) Schmidt of Waseca, and B.J. Kunz of Madelia; grandchildren - Brooke, Megan, Taylor, Madisyn, and Stormie Jo; sisters - Linda (Tom) Postel of New Ulm and Norma (Frank) Henefield of Blooming Prairie. Barb was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials are encouraged to The Diabetes Association or The Dialysis Unit at Mayo Clinic Health System.
