Audrey Marie Walter

Audrey Marie Walter age 84, of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota died on January 29, 2020, at Sleepy Eye Care Center. Memorial Service will be held later this Spring. Interment will be at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com. Audrey Marie Walter was born in St. James, MN on Aug. 9, 1935 to Oscar and Minnie (Sandbo) Swenstad. Audrey married Robert Walter on Jan. 28, 1956 at St. Mary's in Sleepy Eye and together they farmed near Cobden and raised their children, Karen (Mike) Schmid, Karla (Michael) Augustine, Joleen (Steve) Sellner and Gary and special friend Lisa Lax. She is also survived by grandchildren, Lee and Melissa Sellner, Bryan and Amanda Sellner, Cody Walter, Joey and Jasmine Walter, Paige Walter (Cori Moore), John and Elizabeth Schmid, Lynne and Andy Braulick, 9 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Audrey was a hard worker and was employed at Del Monte, AUI, Sanborn Manufacturing, Pietrus, and also cleaned several businesses and homes. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers, old-time music, Charley Pride and a good gin sour. She was preceded in death by husband Robert, daughter Belinda, her parents, brothers Omar and Harlan, sisters Mildred and Muriel and their spouses. Audrey spent the last year of her life at the SE Care Center where she received great care from the nursing and hospice staff. Interment Information St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery 720 3rd Ave. N.E.
