Audrey Veenstra

July 16, 1939 — December 29, 2005

Audrey Ann Veenstra was born July 16, 1939, in Springfield, the daughter of Vincent and Verna 'Toddy' Grausam. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1957 and then attended Vocational School in Mankato. Audrey worked at a bank in Mankato until her marriage to Milo Veenstra on November 5, 1960, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church. Following marriage, the couple farmed in Stately Township until moving to Sundown Township in 1969. Audrey then began work at Salonek Construction where she worked for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church, St. Monica's Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Altar Society, and also served as President on the Hospital Auxiliary Board. Audrey enjoyed reading, traveling, collecting cardinals and attending her grandchildren's events. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and her grandchildren. Audrey Ann Veenstra died Thursday, December 29, 2005, at the Springfield Medical Center at the age of 66 years. Survivors include husband- Milo of Clements; children- Keith and wife Mary Veenstra of Clements, Michelle Veenstra of Lafayette, and Brian and wife Becky Veenstra of Springfield; grandchildren- Marisa Veenstra and fiance' Paul Simonson, Dan Veenstra, Laura Veenstra, Jason Veenstra, Kyle Veenstra, Heidi Veenstra, and Jake Veenstra; mother- Toddy Grausam of Springfield; sister- Nancy and husband Jim Beutz of Mankato; and mother-in-law- Edna Veenstra of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her father- Vincent Grausam; sister- Mary Grausam in infancy; and father-in-law- Harold Veenstra.
