Audrey Jean Schiller, 95, of Saint James, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, at Living Meadows at Luther in Madelia.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11:00am, at First Lutheran Church in Saint James with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at a later date at Mount Hope cemetery in Saint James. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James. Audrey was born on April 26, 1930, to George and Elma (Gallas) Meyer in Fairmont, Minnesota. She grew up and attended school in rural Martin County before moving to Truman in 1942, where she graduated from Truman High School in 1948. She worked as a bookkeeper at Truman Farmers Elevator for 5 years and at Watonwan Memorial Hospital in Saint James from 1963-1998, serving as the Director of Medical Records for most of her tenure. Audrey was one of the charter members of the Saint James Volunteer Ambulance Service, serving for approximately 10 years.
Audrey married Robert Schiller on May 15, 1955, at the Baptist church in Truman. They moved to Ormsby where they were active members of Grace Lutheran Church. They then moved to Saint James in 1980 and became members of First Lutheran Church.
Audrey enjoyed volunteering in the community and was a member of the Saint James American Legion Auxiliary. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, reading, walking, gardening, various crafts, and traveling.
Audrey is survived by her sons, Scott (Julie) Schiller of Saint James, Terry (Linda) Schiller of Lakeville, and Brad (Lori) Schiller of Savage; grandchildren, Melissa (Keith) Davis, Kelly Schiller, Jessica Schiller, Thomas (Nicole) Webber, Andrew Schiller, Brittany (Joshua) Friederichs, and Michael Schiller; great grandchildren, Charlotte, Olivia, Chase, Kaitlyn, Audrey, Noah, and Owen; sister-in-law, Shirley (Nazario) Cantu; and other relatives and friends.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert in 2017; brothers, Stanley and Earl Meyer; and niece, Pamela Meyer.
