Arnold was born on his grandfather's farm in Prairieville Township on February 8, 1929, the son of Leonard Elmer Beula Evelyn (Hansen) Guhlke. He attended District #22 Country School and then graduated in 1951 from Sleepy Eye High School. Arnold married Lulu Kessler on August 25, 1951 and lived in Sleepy Eye where he worked for Remmele Co. and then Standard Oil Business for 6 1/2 years. In 1958 they moved to a farm north of Sleepy Eye and farmed until the early 1990s. Along with farming Arnold worked for Miller Sellner from 1964 until 1999. Lulu and Arnold moved from the farm to a condo in Sleepy Eye in 2001. Arnold loved to travel especially in winter to Mesa, AZ. He served on various church boards at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church and was a former Lions member. He enjoyed water volleyball in AZ, shuffleboard, reading, playing cards music. Arnie also enjoyed going to grandchildren's sports and special family events and spending time with family friends. He is survived by his sons, Doug (Bonnie) Guhlke of Sioux Falls, SD, Greg (Sandy) Guhlke of North Mankato, Keith (Jill) Guhlke of Mankato, daughter, Julie Ibberson of Sleepy Eye and 8 grandchildren, Dr. Alan (Regina) Guhlke and Amanda (Jon) Schwarz, Jacquelyn (Tom) Engelbrecht and Paul Ibberson fiance, Kara, Elizabeth and Denise Guhlke and Macaulay and Madison Guhlke, 4 great grandchildren, Jonas Silas Engelbrecht and Caleb Celeste Guhlke. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lulu in 2004, grandson, Matthew Guhlke in 1987, sister, Lois (George) Gustafson and nephews, Glenn Gustafson and Roger Gustafson.
