Arnold John Coleman was born on the family farm on January 2, 1923, the son of Daniel and Della (Larson) Coleman. Arnold grew up and spent most of his life on the family farm. He attended country school through the eighth grade. On September 17, 1944 he was united in marriage to Elaine Engelbrecht, the couple made their home, for a year and a half, on a farm just east of Arnold's family farm. They moved back to the family farm where they raised their family and continued to live. Arnold loved farming and the outdoors. He drove school bus for over 53 years and also did some truck driving for the Hunstads. Arnold enjoyed woodworking, gardening, riding motorcycle, being part of the Holiday Ramblers, being a snow bird in Mesa, Arizona for many years where they loved to visit swap meets. He enjoyed his daily coffee group at the Hometown. Arnold Coleman passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System-St. James. Arnold is survived by his wife Elaine Coleman of St. James, children; Shirley (Larry) Baarson of Lisbon, ND, Dennis (Sonja) Coleman of St. James, Bonita (Gary) Siem of St. James, Karen (Gregg) Reiter of Orlando, FL, Debra (Michael) Sanchez of Brighton, CO, 12 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren brothers Kenneth Coleman of Truman, Victor (Marlene) Coleman of St. James, and sister-in-law Gertrude Coleman of St. James. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Norman and Lyle, sisters Elda and Leila.
