Arnold Belmont 'Junie' Carlson

June 22, 1940 — February 4, 2016

Arnold Belmont Carlson, known by all as Junie' was born on the family farm, in Adrian Township, Watonwan County, just outside Darfur, Minnesota, on June 22, 1940. He was the son of Albert Byron Carlson and Edna Lestina (Jensen) Carlson. Junie grew up on the family farm went to Country School District 42 and graduated from Comfrey High School. Junie truly loved his farm, farming and his dog, Kaz. He enjoyed fishing, boating and the simple life. He also liked to watch NASCAR races and travelling cross country with family. Many trips were made to Texas and Kansas to visit family. Junie also loved visiting Nashville and enjoyed polka music. He was an active member of the Darfur Sportsman Club. Arnold Junie' Carlson died at his home on Thursday, February 4, 2016. Junie is survived by his sisters Loretta Amsden of Springfield, MN, Violet Anderson of St. James, MN, Eileen (Ray) King of Lawrence, KS, sister-in-law Ilene Carlson of St. James, brother-in-law Leonard Tietz of Morgan, MN, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald Carlson, sister Leona Tietz, brothers-in-law Stan Amsden, Verne Anderson and one nephew Mitchell Carlson.
