Arnie Clayton Frederickson

Arnie Clayton Frederickson was born in St. James, Minnesota, on May 12, 1936, son of Herbert and Julia (Torkelson) Frederickson. Arnie grew up on the family farm and attended country school through the eighth grade. In 1954 he graduated from St. James High School. He served two years in the Army and was stationed in Panama during the Korean war. On July 14, 1956 Arnie married Mary Anderson in Trimont. After his honorable discharge from the military, he returned home and the couple began farming and started a family. Arnie enjoyed farming and raising live stock. He belonged to the American Legion, saddle clubs and served on church boards. He loved riding, raising and showing horses. He also enjoyed woodworking, carpentry projects and tinkering with machinery. He loved watching his Westerns and The Big Bang Theory. Arnie enjoyed his daily coffee group in LaSalle. Arnie and Mary enjoyed eating out at the local fish fry with their friends. He loved spending time with his great-grandkids, grandkids and family. Arnie Frederickson passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health Care System - Mankato. Arnie is survived by his wife of 60 years Mary Frederickson of Hanska, children Mark (Peggy) Frederickson of Hanska, Kathy (Randy) Wellman of Hanska, grandchildren Katie (Cory) Meyer of Sioux Falls, SD, Matt Frederickson (Liz Beckius) of LaSalle, Kelli Frederickson of Edina, Randi Wellman (Ryan Mosser) of LaSalle, Dusty (Ashley) Wellman of St. James, Ashley (Jeremy) Brekken of Hanska, Lacy Wellman (Matt Gens) of Hanska, seven great-grandchildren, brothers Owen Frederickson of Mason City, IA, Lloyd Frederickson of Hanska, sister Janet (Steve) Guyton of Buffalo, WY, brother-in-law Norman (Shirley) Anderson of Denver, CO, and a sister-in-law Jane Semanko of Coon Rapids. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Frederick and brother-in-law Chuck Semanko.
