Armin Kastner

Armin G. Kastner was born on May 11, 1918, on the farm in Lamberton Township, Redwood County to George and Martha (Retzlaff) Kastner. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Lamberton. Armin graduated from Lamberton High School in 1936. Armin was united in marriage to Berniece Quiring at Sharon Lutheran Church on March 12, 1944. They made their home on the family farm, farming until 1984 when they moved to Lamberton. After retiring from farming, he worked for Pfarr Appliance. Armin was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church serving as custodian for many years. He served on the church council at Zion Lutheran Church, served as secretary treasurer for 24 years, board member of the Revere Coop Oil Company, board member of District Two of Midland Coop, RUR Coop of Wabasso, Lamberton and Wabasso Farmers Elevator, President of Lamberton Shipping Association, and was a Committee member and reporter for Redwood County ASC. Armin died on Friday, June 17, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Springfield, MN at the age of 98 years. He is survived by nephew Allan Kastner; and other many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Berniece in December of 1999; sister - Edna (Loren) Erickson; and brother - Elmer (Eleanor) Kastner.
