Arlo Milton Kelly, age 97, of Lake Crystal, Minnesota died on December 15, 2020, at the Crystal Season's Living Center in Lake Crystal, Mn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Madelia, on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 2:00 pm with Fr. Timothy Hall as Celebrant. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral will be for immediate family only. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Madelia with military rites provided by the Madelia Area Veterans Honor Guard. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home, Pilgrim Chapel in Madelia. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com. Arlo Milton Kelly was born to Edward and Alice (Nelson) Kelly on August 7, 1923 in rural Lake Crystal. Following high school, he worked on his family farm until enlisting in the United States Army. He served from 1944-1947 as a paratrooper. Upon his Honorable Discharge, he returned to farm in Madelia. He married MaryAnn Hiniker on July 14, 1948 at Holy Rosary Church in North Mankato. Arlo was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Madelia since 1959. He also served on the LaSalle Farmers Grain Board of Directors for 18 years. He spent his winters in Arizona for the past 28 years and enjoyed golfing, bowling and spending time with his family. Arlo passed away on December 15, 2020 surrounded by his family. A special thanks to the nurses with Mayo Clinic Hospice and the caring staff at Crystal Season's Living Center for all their support during Arlo's final days. Arlo is survived by his wife, MaryAnn Kelly; children, Judy (Bill) Feder, Roger (Brenda) Kelly, Wayne (Bonnie) Kelly, Barb (Bob) Baumler, David Kelly, Nancy (David) Hefko, Steve Kelly; 19 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ellsworth and Bob (Jackie) Kelly; sister-in-law, Vicki Kelly. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Kelly; sisters, Junice (Merle) Baker, Kathryn (Warren) Thorson, and several in-laws. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Interment Information Calvary Cemetery, Madelia East, Co. Hwy 3 Madelia, Minnesota, United States 56062 Military Rites Military Honors will be provided by the Madelia Area Veterans Honor Guard.
