Arlene Rosenau Vogel was born on April 17, 1938, to Henry and Elsie (Trebesch) Rosenau at her family's home in Burnstown Township. She attended country school through the 8th grade. On September 30, 1961, Arlene was united in marriage to Sylvester Vogel at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield. The couple moved to the farm where they raised their family. Arlene also worked at Tessien Hospital as a nurse's aide, Rainbow Cafe, St. John Lutheran Home as an aide and later in the kitchen. Sonny and Arlene owned Sonny's East Side Bar in Springfield. Arlene was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, canning, and playing cards. Arlene loved caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spending time with them.
She is survived by daughter Bonnie and children Nita and Hana, daughter Doreen (Jeff) Christensen and children Dan (Jenna), Emily (Tony) Kuhlers, and Cole (fiancée Kaylee Romsdahl), daughter Julie (Tim) Gramentz and children Josh and Allissa (Billy) Cook, son Jon (Elaine) and children Lindsay Braulick, Jordan (Katlyn), and Lexie (fiancé Isaak Lothert), daughter Mary (Jim) Simonson and children Chase and Haley; great grandchildren - Kreed and Kenlee Christensen, Adeline Kuhlers, Kaizley and Jefferson Cook, Bennett and Crue Braulick, Emma Vogel; in-laws - Gertie Rosenau, Eleanor Teicher, Tony Vogel, Nancy Vogel, Eileen Vogel; and many nieces and nephews. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Sylvester, parents, siblings - Emil, Otto, Wilbert, and Swede Rosenau, Leona Wog, Verna Mude, and Violet Krebs.
