Arlene Liesenfeld

Arlene Evelyn Liesenfeld was born May 25, 1932, in rural Comfrey, the daughter of George and Amelia 'Molly' (Heffele) Elsing. She grew up in the Comfrey area and was united in marriage to Darrell Rex Liesenfeld on November 15, 1949. The couple farmed around Comfrey from 1949-1988, then moved to Springfield. Arlene and Darrell owned 5th-wheel campers and loved to camp both locally and were Winter Texans for 22 years. Arlene was a former member of Salem Lutheran Church in Comfrey and was a current member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield. Arlene Evelyn Liesenfeld died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 75 years. Survivors include mother- Molly Elsing of Springfield; children- Rosanne and husband Donald Wall of Springfield, Robert and wife Teresa Liesenfeld of Comfrey, and Vicky and husband Allen Longhenry of Nassau, MN; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers- Ben Elsing of Pine City, MN, Arnold Elsing of Twin Falls, ID, Kenneth Elsing of Banning, CA, and Glen Elsing of Canyon Grove, CA; and sisters- Lorraine Olson of Mankato, and Lois Bloemke of St. Clair, MN. She was preceded in death by her father; husband- Darrell in 2001; daughter- Gail Grunig; and brother- Gerald Elsing.
