Ardis Olson

Ardis A Olson age 85, of Springfield, MN died on December 21, 2020, at Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye, MN. Visitation will be on Monday, December 28, 2020, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield, MN. Service will be held at the St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield, MN on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 10:30 am. Interment will be at the St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery in Springfield, MN. Ardis Ann Olson was born on June 28, 1935 to Frank and Louisa (Kastner) Meisinger at home in Springfield, MN. She attended St. Raphael's Catholic School and graduated from Springfield High School in 1953. Following graduation, she worked at Springfield Hiway Market. In 1961, she moved to Gaylord and worked for Fingerhut Corporation until moving to Mankato in 1967 where she worked for Fingerhut until the business closed. Ardis then began working for Carlson Craft Companies where she retired from in 2006. On April 23, 1976, she was united in marriage to James Olson in Estherville, IA, the couple later divorced. Ardis was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church while living in Springfield and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Mankato. She was a member and Past State Commander of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 950 in Mankato and Springfield American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed hand crafts, knitting, cooking, and baking. Ardis loved spending time with her family especially the babies. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Ardis was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters - Lucille (Ole) Maurer, Margaret (Stanley) Schunk, and Eileen (Ray) Fredin.
